An accomplished trainer recognizes the relationship between a client and their dog and can determine the problems that arise.  They provide the explanation of the problem and present you with the training advice and necessary tools to create harmony within your pack.

We offer these services to you through private and small group classes (semi-private) from puppy training, basic dog obedience, intermediate, advanced, and competition training.

Since there is no State Certification for dog trainers it is important to look at the trainers past accomplishments, their clients achievements, referrals, years of experience, and knowledge of training different breeds.

Dogs get bored without a job and sometimes become neurotic and obsessive and find their own jobs.  Often times these jobs are not pleasant to the owner and that is when the dog trainer is called in.  A part of responsible dog ownership is fulfilling your dogs needs to create a balanced dog.  Once you provide pack leadership and guidance for your dog by outlining their job functions, you create harmony and a bond between your dog and your family.  I have worked with many working breeds and I will give you the tools needed to create that well behaved pet with practice and leadership.

We are proud of the credentials we have to offer:

*  Training dogs of various breeds and guiding owners in the training of their dogs.

*  Knowledge of canine behavior—(The dynamics of dog psychology/understanding the characteristics of YOUR breed).

*  Understanding the socialization of your pet and accomplishing this through training.

*  A sound training methodology that suits both you and your dog

*  Competing in various venues of Obedience competition including :AKC Obedience, Schutzhund, Rally, Canine Good Citizen, and Therapy Dog.  Additionally guiding some of our clients to these venues as well.

*   12 years of experience in all breeds as well as temperament evaluations and rescue placements.

Current Classes:

My classes are set up on a semi-private basis where the class size is kept small to ensure plenty of individual attention.  Class size is limited to a maximum of 6 handler/dogs per class.

Intermediate :

Reinforces the basic commands learned in beginner classes while transitioning to off leash.  Focus on motivational training, attention, recalls, off leash heeling, sit/down's with distractions and out of sight.  Last class will be performed at a Shopping Center, Home Depot Parking Lot, or other "real world" location to proof training experiences.

Semi-Advanced:

A Continuation of the intermediate course where most of the work is done off leash or with dog on pull tab.  A thorough disiplin of attention and distraction work will be done in this class.  Working on heeling around people, objects, noise, food.  Meet and greet strangers.  Interaction with other dogs in close proximity while maintaining attention.  In addition, pivots, corners, and footwork will also be discussed to move your dog into position with you adjusting your body for the dog.

Advanced:

This course is off leash, introduction to hand signals, sit, down, come, stand.  Mostly non verbal communications will be used in this class.  Further work will be explored with footwork, 180 degree pivots, backup, go outs.

Outward Hound Classes:

Please contact me directly for more information and for class schedule.  This course is designed to meet at various locations twice a month.  It is open to graduates of the Advanced Class.  Classes meet at various locations (shopping centers, pet stores, hardware warehouses, food store) for "real world" training experiences.
