Welcome to our Puppy-Wuppy website.
Here I hope you will find a variety of information on the care,
training, and life long commitment that I feel animals should share in
our lives.
The family at Puppy-Wuppy is actively
involved in rescue from various shelters, specializing in kill shelters
and gas shelters. Yes, there are still gas shelters in the USA!
Our goal is to retrain these animals for
adaptability to new home environments or working environments.
Additionally, we are dedicated to promote public awareness of the
responsibility of pet ownership, the training involved, and the
mechanics of a working canine. We educate new owners through behavior
and training seminars prior to adoption.
It is important for individuals to understand that
the puppy in the window will grow up and needs to know its place in the
family. Furthermore, each breed has certain characteristics or traits
that are inherent and cannot be overlooked when choosing that pet for
your family. For example, German Shepherds, Dobies, Rotts, Border
Collies all make great family pets, but they also have an unearthed and
underlying need to work and please. To take that away from they would
be unjust. It is something to keep in mind when choosing your breed for
your family. Too may dogs lives at the shelter are ended because of
POOR JUDGMENT or lack of knowledge. Knowledge is power, and the more
knowledge you have, a better-informed decision you can make for all
concerned when choosing the right canine for you.
As for the rest of the website, it is filled with
useful information regarding training and behavior, brought to you from
many articles and experiences.
News Flash Updates
Please visit our Updated News Page
for Updates on Dogs, Titles, Shows, Etc.
Under our working female page, you
will see that Emma Peel Vom Tollhaus received her AKC CD, and CDX,
qualifying in 6 for 7 shows. For her Companion Dog Excellent, she
placed 4 times in 3 shows with 1
High in Trial. She also took Rally Novice and Rally Advanced in 3 for 3 shows. Accomplished in a two year span..only 1 NQ.
An awesome percentage.
In addition, she received her Schutzhund III in
June 2007, taking 2nd place at a local trial with High Obedience.
Emma was also invited and participated in the 2008 All Stars
Performance Event where she placed respectively in her class.
We are looking to continue her career in this sport with the excellent
training assistance that John Soares has provided to Lori and Emma.
John is a top sport competitor taking the NE Regional Championship in
2005, as well as, IDC World Championship (4th place), 2005 FCI Helper
Certification in Italy, 2005 FCI Nationals in Switzerland (6th place)
among other podium placings in Italy, Slovakia, Czech Republic and USA.
Boreas is celebrating a birthday and
enjoying his semi-retirement, while at the same time showing the puppies
the ropes for basic manners and trying to manipulate Mommy.
Lastly, we have two rising stars,
Chaos and Calais, that are actively involved in agility and are learning
the foundation work for Schutzhund. They both earned their
Rally Novice and Rally Advanced titles taking ribbons at almost
every show in 6 for 6 shows.
They both went on to earn titles in
the APDT venue of Rally for Rally Level 1 and Level
Current activity:
Emma is training for her AKC UD.
She was also just introduced to Agility in March 2010 and seems to love
it so watch out for here there.
Chaos
is STILL mastering his Agility skills, without trying to crash into too many
jumps! I have to thank Sandi from Golden Rule School for
Dogs in Andover NJ for her assistance
with Chaos' progress. He will be an agility star soon. In the
interim, he furthered his career with an AKC CD title in 3 for 3 shows,
and passed his SchH BH
and is working on Schutzhund I and perhaps a CDX.
Calais is very consistent in his
agility and we will be working toward the Rally Excellent title in the
Fall of 2010 when things settle down at home.
Puppy-Wuppy will be considering
another breeding. Please contact
us for more information on this litter and pedigree. Puppy-Wuppy
will be moving in the Summer; however, classes will continue as usual
and look for private indoor classes in the winter coming soon. We
may have an agility field open as well late in the summer. Please stay updated with our website
and email me with your contact information for any changes.
Thank you,
Lori Minardi
